Congratulations to St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice, the winners of the Ringrose Law ‘A Grand Idea’ for Sleaford.

St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice is the only children’s hospice in Lincolnshire and provides hospice services for children, young people and their families who have life limiting illnesses. It cost £1.8 million to run the hospice every year. The Hospice Charity Shop in Sleaford entered Ringrose Law’s community scheme ‘A Grand Idea’ in May 2014, to help support the families that live in the Sleaford area and use the Hospice on a regular basis.

After a month of public voting, the Hospice received the most public support and received the £1,000 to go towards their new family accommodation at the Hospice, the Butterfly Suite. On hearing the news, Fundraising Manager for the Hospice, Lauren Alexander commented;

“St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice is over the moon to have won A Grand Idea Sleaford organised by Ringrose Law Solicitors in Sleaford. It’s fantastic to know that local people in Sleaford have been voting for the Hospice over the past few weeks. £1000 means we will now be able to purchase the CuddleCot mattress which we mentioned in our video. Therefore, allowing us to provide a better service for our bereaved families. Finally, a big thank you to everyone who has supported us! “

A Grand Idea was launched last year by Ringrose Law, who committed to give an impressive £1,000 each to six different charities/community groups across Lincolnshire and Newark every year. Other ‘A Grand Idea’ winners this year include the Children’s Bereavement Centre in Newark.

Alex Bennett, Marketing Manager at Ringrose Law comments;

“We had some fantastic entries from Sleaford this year, all such very worthy causes. After short listing the top three projects we opened up a public vote, which really was neck and neck until the very last second! We are delighted that the Children’s Hospice has won and hope the CuddleCot will help families during such a difficult time of their lives.”

A Grand Idea will be continuing throughout 2014 and the next spotlight city will be Lincoln. If any community project or charity would like to send an application go to www.ringroselaw.co.uk/agrandidea for more information.
