Home-Start Grantham is delighted to be the latest winners of the Ringrose Law Community Project Scheme ‘A Grand Idea’ and this week were presented with a cheque for £1,000 to help towards the funding for the charity.

Home-Start Grantham is an independent charity and provide support for parents with at least one child under the age of 11 through difficult times, including; loneliness, isolation, relationship problems, coping with twins, triplets or several pre-school children, ill health, disability or special needs, lone parenting, first time parenthood or new babies, postnatal illness and children’s behavioural problems. Trained volunteers visit families at home on a weekly basis and the charity also supports families through 3 Family Support Groups which are each run on a weekly basis. In total Home-Start Grantham have supported 113 families in the last 12 months in Grantham.

The £1,000 donation will go towards training more people to be home visiting volunteers, enabling Home-Start to continue to support vulnerable families in the Grantham area.

We are thrilled to have won the ‘A Grand Idea Grantham’ competition. £1000 means a lot to Home-Start Grantham and will be used to train more volunteers from our local community who will then support local families. A Grand Idea was launched in 2013 by Ringrose Law, who committed to give an impressive £1,000 each to six different charities/community groups across Lincolnshire and Newark every year. Other ‘A Grand Idea’ winners this year include the Children’s Bereavement Centre in Newark and St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice and Lincoln Friends of Anthony Nolan.
