Friskney Bowmen Archery Club are delighted to be the latest winners of the Ringrose Law Community Project Scheme ‘A Grand Idea’ and last week were presented with a cheque for £1,000 to assist with developing new coaches and trainers at the club.

Founded over 50 years ago this year, Friskney Bowmen Archery Club is made up of both Field and Target archers. The club facilities includes their own field and indoor facilities at Friskney Village Hall for shooting in the winter and welcomes over 200 people through its doors every year from Friskney, Boston and surrounding area.

The money raised will be going towards the training and development of 6 new coaches at the club, in order to allow more members to join the club and provide further services to existing members.

Malcolm Adams, Club Chairman comments;

Taking part in the Grand Idea competition has already raised the profile of Friskney Bowmen Club and we are delighted to win £1000.We hope to start training the new coaches at the end of this Summer, which will hopefully allow us to offer a better service to our new and existing members.”

A Grand Idea was launched in 2013 by Ringrose Law, who committed to give an impressive £1,000 each to six different charities/community groups across Lincolnshire and Newark every year. Other ‘A Grand Idea’ winners in 2014/15 included the Children’s Bereavement Centre in Newark, St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice and Lincoln Friends of the Anthony Nolan Trust.
