Now in its fourth year, the annual Lincoln Dragon Boat Race has raised nearly seven thousand pounds for local Lincolnshire charities this year.

Organisers Ringrose Law were delighted to present a cheque this week to the two local charities; Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and Nomad, part of YMCA Lincolnshire. The first Lincoln Dragon Boat Race was organised in 2016, and since then has continued to grow and grow.

Sixteen teams competed this year in the battle to be crowned the Dragon of the Water. The event has now become one of the key highlights on the City’s events calendar.

Alex Bennett, Marketing Manager at Ringrose Law, organises the event every year:

We love running this event each year. Not only is it a fantastic event for people to come and watch and cheer on the teams, but it is a great fundraiser. To raise nearly £7,000 for these two charities is fantastic and we ant to thank everyone who helped us achieve this.

We are pleased to announce the event will be returning for a fifth year. It will be taking place on Sunday 19th July. We will be looking to sign teams up in the New Year.”

Faye Nam from the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulane spoke of her delight and how this will help the charity.

She said: “The Air Ambulance is funded entirely by donations from the public so this money means we can get more missions, save more lives and help more people across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

The Dragon Boat Race is an amazing event and a really fun day. People can get involved and feel they are contributing to charities right across the county.”
