Congratulations to Grantham Canal Society – winners of the Ringrose Law ‘A Grand Idea’ for Grantham.

The Grantham Canal meanders its 33-miles along The Grantham Canal Basin. It is widely regarded as the jewel of the unrestored canal system in Britain. Their long-term objective to reinstate the canal and turn dereliction into treasure; creating jobs, housing and a visitor attraction of regional merit

The money received from A Grand Idea will go towards providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the 80 plus volunteers in the form of Hi-Viz vests, gloves, hardhats and ear defenders so that volunteers can remain safe whilst helping to restore the Canal.

Neil White, Fundraiser for Grantham Canal commented;

 “On behalf of The Grantham Canal Society I would like to thank everyone who voted for us in this community award. The money will go towards personal protective equipment for our many volunteers. We have volunteers working at events, on the trip boat, restoring locks, cleaning the canal and this award will help to support them in their activities.

We are thankful to Ringrose Law for organising this and recognising good causes within the local community.”
