The 2019 Lincoln Dragon Boat Race will be held on Saturday 20th July.
Dragon Boat Racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and over the last few years has become the fastest growing water activity in Britain today.
About The Race
The first Lincoln Boat Race, held in July 2016, was the first boat race the Brayford Waterfront had hosted for many years. Ringrose Law Solicitors, along with Lincoln BIG, Visit Lincoln and supporting partners decided to take the plunge and re-introduce the event back to the City’s event calendar.
The day was a huge success with hundreds of spectators throughout the day watching the local teams competing to be crowned the 2016 Dragon Boat Champion.
APSS – Lincoln Dragon Boat Race 2016 Winners
The prestigious title was won by APSS Group, one of the local firms competing on the day, other local firms competing included; Delta-Simons Environmental Consultants, The University of Lincoln, Lambert Smith Hampton, Ruddocks, Duncan & Toplis, Simons Group and Ringrose Law.
The event raised over £3,000 for St Barnabas Hospice and the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
In 2017 we doubled the number of teams and we doubled the amount of money we raised – a fantastic triumph for the second year!
Whilst the weather was a little gloomy, it didn’t stop hundreds of spectators coming along to support the racing dragons.
Highway Five-O (Lincolnshire County Council Highways Alliance) were crowned the 2017 Champions- beating second place by just 1.40 seconds!!!
