Our Community

At Ringrose Law, we want to play our part in making a difference; making a difference to our people, clients and the communities within which we live and work.

We also want to make sure that our impact on the environment is positive which is why we are committed to looking at ways to reduce our local carbon footprint.

Community and Charity

In the last few years we have increased our Charity and community engagement considerably and now it forms a large part of the firm’s long-term strategy and marketing plan and objectives.

We support multiple local and national charities every year and actively encourage our staff to engage with fundraising initiatives.

Lincoln Dragon Boat Race

We launched the annual Lincoln Dragon Boat Race back into the City of Lincoln in 2016.

An event that had traditionally taken place in the City many years ago, we pushed to reintroduce the event back into the City to help the City’s tourism, raise money for local charities and promote a fun day for local Lincolnshire businesses to take part in.

In the last few years the event has doubled in size and the event has raised over £25,000 for local charities including the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, LIVES and St Barnabas Hospice Lincoln.  This event has also had a knock-on effect for the City, with increased levels of tourists coming into the City to watch the event and boosting sales in local shops, pubs and restaurants.

Alex Bennett, Marketing Manager at Ringrose Law can see the benefits the event brings to the City;

“Working together with local businesses and local charities is fantastic. We are proud to have bought back this great event to the City and look forward to watching it grow and grow each year.”

A Grand Idea

We launched our A Grand Idea scheme in 2013 and pledged to donate £1,000 each to six different local charities across the region each year.

To date we have supported over 20 charities (donating over £20,000) to local charities and community groups. Not only  have we donated the money but our staff have also worked closely with some of the groups and charities over the last few years, including the Children’s Bereavement Centre in Newark, Grantham Tennis Club, Friskney Bowmen Archery Club, Lincoln Friends of Anthony Nolan and many more.

“Taking part in the Grand Idea competition has already raised the profile of our local fundraising group and we are delighted to win £1000. Thanks to Ringrose Law, we will now organise our first recruitment and information event for next year and hopefully get some more potential lifesavers to sign up in Lincoln and the surrounding villages.”

Julie Cook, Lincoln Friends of Anthony Nolan.

“We are thrilled to have won the ‘A Grand Idea Grantham’ competition. £1000 means a lot to Home-Start Grantham and will be used to train more volunteers from our local community who will then support local families. We are very grateful to everyone who took the time to vote for us in the competition – thank you, and we would like to thank Ringrose Law very much for the donation, it is very much appreciated.”

Sarah High, HomeStart Grantham.

Making a difference to our community

As well as the above initiatives we are actively involved with many community groups and charities in the region.

Our Environment

We acknowledge that running our business has an impact on society. We have a responsibility to our clients, our employees and suppliers as well as the broader community in which we operate. We are committed to taking responsibility for our actions and encourage a positive contribution towards improving standards for our clients and employees, minimising our impact on the environment and improving the quality of the local community.

We continuously look to improve our environmental performance and carbon footprint through the implementation of environmentally friendly policies and processes.

  • In 2020 we launched our paper-lite commitment into the firm and have considerably reduced the amount of paper we use on a day to day basis.
  • Throughout COVID-19 we have dramatically changed our working practices and how we service our clients. We have been using technology and remote working to continue our own working practices.
  • We offer flexible working to our staff to reduce their travel to and from the office
  • We offer video meetings to clients where appropriate
  • We conduct free telephone clinics for a variety of our legal services
  • We use local suppliers where possible to reduce our carbon footprint and invest back into our local economy
  • Recycling stations in all offices
  • When choosing new equipment, we will consider their environmental credentials as part of the specification process.
  • We look to minimising our consumption of natural resources and manage waste through responsible disposal and recycling, eg: re-use of paper and ink cartridges; installation of new LED lighting throughout our offices; development of technology leading to more electronic communications and development of our online client portal
