“Taking part in the Grand Idea competition has already raised the profile of our local fundraising group and we are delighted to win £1000. Thanks to Ringrose Law, we will now organise our first recruitment and information event for next year and hopefully get some more potential lifesavers to sign up in Lincoln and the surrounding villages.”
Julie Cook, Lincoln Friends of Anthony Nolan.
“We are thrilled to have won the ‘A Grand Idea Grantham’ competition. £1000 means a lot to Home-Start Grantham and will be used to train more volunteers from our local community who will then support local families. We are very grateful to everyone who took the time to vote for us in the competition – thank you, and we would like to thank Ringrose Law very much for the donation, it is very much appreciated.”
Sarah High, HomeStart Grantham.
Lincoln Dragon Boat Race
In 2016 Ringrose Law, alongside Lincoln BIG and Visit Lincoln organised the first annual Lincln Dragon Boat Race on the Lincoln Brayford Pool.
The event, held in July, saw eight local businesses in Lincoln competing to be crowned the 2016 Dragon Boat Race Champion. Hundreds of people from the City and visitors to the City came to watch the event along the Brayford, and by doing so increased the level of activity at local bars and restaurants in the area. There was also huge support from the local media and local businesses who came to support.
The two charities involved were St Barnabas Hospice Lincoln and the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and altogether over £3,000 was raised on the day.
The event was a fantastic event for the City, Michael Armstrong, Events & Promotions Manager at Lincoln BIG Commented;
“The Dragon Boat Race bought great excitement to one of the most beautiful parts of the city and attracted scores of visitors to the City on the day. We hope it will become an annual feature of the city’s events calendar.”
