Can I obtain free mediation services?
With effect from 3rd November 2014, where one person is eligible for Legal Aid, the Legal Aid Agency will pay for a MIAMS (Mediation Information Assessment Meeting) for both parties, along with the costs of the first mediation session. This applies even if the second party is not eligible for Legal Aid.
For the second and any subsequent sessions, the Legal Aid Agency will only pay for the person who qualifies for Legal Aid and the other person will therefore pay the mediation charges on a private basis.
To find out more about free mediation services or if you are eligible for legal aid contact the Ringrose Law Family Mediation team at your nearest Ringrose Law office in Boston, Grantham, Lincoln, Sleaford, Spalding and Newark.
