With in excess of 6,000 speed cameras in the UK it is hardly surprising that 4.5 million drivers currently have points on their licence for speeding. Of these 4.5 million it is estimated that as many as 21% have accumulated 9 points (source Channel 4 News, March 2007). This could mean that there could be in excess of 900,000 drivers just one camera flash away from a 6 month driving ban!
