Sleaford Rugby Club is delighted to be the latest winners of the Ringrose Law Community Project Scheme ‘A Grand Idea’ and last night were presented with a cheque for £1,000 to help towards the funding for the club.

Sleaford Rugby Club is a local community rugby club which has teams from under 6years up to veterans with teams for both sexes. The club offers training and coaching to all levels and help coaches gain qualifications too, so everyone being taught rugby is to the highest standard they can receive.

The club prides itself as being a community club and venue for anyone to use in Sleaford and surrounding area.

The £1,000 donation will go towards the clubs current refurbishment, which has included refreshing the changing rooms, shower blocks, and the club’s bar and hospitality area. This has been a project that has taken several months to complete and it is hoped will attract more players to the club as well as people using the club for functions and events.

Tim Schofield, Fundraiser for the Club comments;

“The money will all go to help improve facilities in the club, it will enable us to replace the ceiling tiles in the changing rooms which we have had a major leak in the past and lots were badly damaged. We can now also put new lighting in which are more modern and energy efficient. All this makes for a more welcoming clubhouse which can be enjoyed and used by members and the community in years to come. On behalf of Sleaford rugby club we would like to say a big thank you to Ringrose Law for this generous donation.”

A Grand Idea was launched in 2013 by Ringrose Law, who committed to give an impressive £1,000 each to six different charities/community groups across Lincolnshire and Newark every year. A Grand Idea winners last year included the Children’s Bereavement Centre in Newark, St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice, Home-Start Grantham and Age UK Spalding.

David Heath, Head of the Sleaford Office at Ringrose Law comments;

“We are delighted that Sleaford Rugby Club has won the Grand Idea Scheme in Sleaford for 2015. The Club is such a great facility for the town and it is great to see so many youngsters involved in the Club. We hope the £1,000 will help towards the refurbishment of the Clubs facilities.”

A Grand Idea is continuing throughout 2015 in Lincoln and Grantham. If any community project or charity would like to send an application go to www.ringroselaw.co.uk/agrandidea for more information.
