The definition of domestic violence can be any incident of controlling, cohesive or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse (whether psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional) between individuals who are associated with each other.

Research shows that domestic abuse effects one in four women in their lifetime.  Two women a week are killed by their partners or former partners. Not only does this happen to women but can also happen to men the abuse generally comes from the abusers desire for power and control over a partner or other family member.

There are lots of avenues which the victims of Domestic Abuse can seek help by way of professional organisation and Court intervention, injunctive relief can be sought to assist victims were necessary.

What can we do to help?

We can apply to the Court on your behalf for an injunction against your partner. An Injunction is an Order which can be used to keep you safe. If necessary we can also provide immediate protection for your children.

The Injunction can place restrictions on your partner’s behaviour and prevent further violence or threats of violence.
