Company fined after worker falls through roof

A company has been heavily fined after a senior roofer fell through a fragile garden centre ceiling whilst installing solar panels in the roof.

An investigation by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) found that the clean energy company based in Cornwall had not properly planned or supervised the work being carried out. The roofer fell approximately 15 feet as he crossed the roof and it gave way, causing him to suffer multiple injuries.

The company had failed to comply with Work at Height Regulations 2005 (http://pr

)

Tasks that involve working at height require proper and appropriate planning, safety equipment and supervision- even when experienced workers are carrying out the task.

If you have been hurt in an accident at work because of poor planning, supervision or equipment, then you may have a claim for personal injury. Contact our team today at Ringrose Law in Boston, Grantham, Lincoln, Sleaford, Spalding & Newark where we can advise you if you have a claim.
