Over the last few weeks the team at Ringrose Law has been busy collecting and filling old shoe boxes for Women’s Aid across the County.
The Shoe Box Challenge
Over Christmas Women’s Aid support victims of domestic abuse, which is many cases can include children as well. The shoe boxes will be given to the women and children over Christmas to help support them over such a difficult time.
So far the firm has filled 49 shoe boxes with toiletries, chocolates and treats for women and gifts, toys, chocolates and sweets for children. All the items so far have been donated by members of the public, local businesses, friends and family.
Nichola Skayman, head of the Domestic Abuse Team at Ringrose Law started the initiative earlier in the month;
“I work with victims of domestic abuse every day and understand the daily struggles they go through when trying to get their lives and their childrens lives back together. The idea of the Shoe box challenge is to help them at such a difficult time and bring some happiness to them. Many items in the shoe boxes can be so basic from toothpaste to deodorant, but when they leave home they often walk away with nothing, so they are grateful for any small luxuries.”
