Calls to the UK’s national domestic abuse helpline rose by 66 per cent and visits to its website surged by 950 per cent during the first coronavirus lockdown.
It is expected that figures will rise again over the next few weeks and in the build up to Christmas.
Do not suffer in silence – help is at hand. There are organisations that can help and support victims and children through this very difficult time.
We as Lawyers are able to seek assistance from the Court in respect of urgent protection Orders to ensure the safety of the victim and children. The Courts are remaining open during Lockdown 2 enabling lawyers to make the essential urgent applications for Non Molestation Orders and Child Act Orders. We understand that people maybe reluctant to come forward and seek help because of the current situation but help is our there.
