About Lincoln Food Bank
Our Lincoln Foodbank project provides 3 day emergency food to local people in crisis. According to our data from 2015, 1900 people required support through an emergency food parcel; this represents 2% of the population of Lincoln and shows food poverty is a problem in the local community. People are referred by support agencies, and the beneficiary collects from a local Distribution Centre, run by people within the local community, where advice and guidance can be given.
Lincoln Foodbank started giving donated food to vulnerable people in Lincoln in 2008. It now has a network of four distribution centres and a central warehouse.
“Over the last five years, we have given out over 8000 food parcels and supported a total of 12743 people.
In FY 2013-2014, we distributed slightly over 1000 food parcels to single people, couples and families, supporting a total of 2071 people. Demand has continued to increase year on year. 2017-2018 proved to be our busiest year yet. The donation we received from the A Grand Idea project in addition to other donations and funding, enabled us to give 1529 food parcels to 3527 people in Lincoln free of charge.
We are so grateful for the support offered by Ringrose Law. It has had a tangible effect on vulnerable local people and communities.”
