Catherine is a valuable member of the Discrimination and Equality department. Her responsibilities encompass management of case files, fostering connections with clients, and meticulously preparing claims to safeguard their rights. Cat is frequently seen at events, educating people about the Equality Act 2010, and highlighting the legal rights and responsibilities that individuals hold.
Prior to joining the Discrimination team, Cat previously worked in the area of Mental Health law and has always been passionate about inclusivity and championing social justice. She actively participates in various local networking groups, focused on enhancing inclusivity and disability rights. Catherine previously attended the Government’s small group consultation regarding the amendment of the Mental Health Act, an experience she thoroughly enjoyed.
Education
Catherine started with the firm in 2019 during her undergraduate degree, she is now completing her Training and is due to qualify as a Solicitor in March 2024.
Catherine graduated with Distinction in a Masters of Law from De Montfort University in 2022 and completed her undergraduate Law degree at the University of Lincoln in 2020.
She has written a number of research pieces based on Human rights law, how this impacts mental health care and what any future legislation should look like.
Hobbies and Interests
In her spare time Catherine is an avid ice hockey fan and supports the Sheffield Steelers’. She also enjoys swimming, live music and going to see her family in her home town of Norwich.
