About Tony Freitas

Tony Freitas read law at the University of Lincoln. He studied Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law in London and qualifyed as a Barrister. He subsequently completed the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test to be dual qualified as a Solicitor as well. Tony is a Duty Solicitor, qualifying under the Law Society’s Criminal Litigation Accreditation Scheme. Tony has represented clients at Police Stations, Magistrates Courts and Crown Courts in a wide range of cases. Cases ranging from shoplifting to murder. His cases are regularly mentioned in the local press, and has had several cases featured in national newspapers and magazines. He has also appeared on BBC Look North twice to provide expert opinion on major developments in sentencing practice.

Tony enjoys court advocacy, from bail applications to trials, and is determined to always secure the best results for his clients. He has a particular interest in motoring law. Tony has appeared in various Courts up and down the country fighting to avoid driving disqualifications. He is able to advise on matters including speeding, no insurance and ‘totting up’ (amassing 12 penalty points or more), which cause people great fear and uncertainty. Often the loss of a person’s driving license can have disastrous effects both on their job and home life.
