Clare’s Law will become effective in March 2014 and will enable people to check the police record of their partners.

The scheme which has been piloted in Greater Manchester, Wiltshire, Nottinghamshire and Gwent will provide people with the information they need to escape an abusive situation.

Ringrose Law now has a dedicated team specialising in helping those who have suffered from domestic violence and welcomes the introduction of Clare’s Law.

We work closely with collaborators specialising in supporting people who are at risk of or are living with domestic abuse. We are also working with Independent Domestic Violence Officers to provide legal advice and to obtain protective injunctions.

Protective Orders can be obtained to  include protection from the use or threat of violence to include stalking and harassment and in the majority of case, Legal Aid is still available.

If you cannot come to our office or would like to meet elsewhere, we will try and arrange a meeting at an alternative safe location to meet your needs.

We also run a free drop in session on the last Friday of every month.  For further detals go to https://www.ringroselaw.co.uk/events/free-family-law-clinic-2-2013-11-29/
