What is an Interim Supervision Order?
An Interim Supervision Order means that the Local Authority has to assist and befriend the parents of the child. The Local Authority will support the parents in providing good enough parenting. This is a temporary order that is made whilst the court can make a final decision that will be in the best interest of the child.
Would the Local Authority have Parental Responsibility if they issued an Order?
An Interim Supervision Order does not mean that the Local Authority would share Parental Responsibility with the parents, or with any other person with Parental Responsibility. This means it would not give the Local Authority power to remove the child from the parents care. The role of the Local Authority under an Interim Supervision Order is to support and befriend the parents of the child.
