During March Giles Tyas, from our Road Traffic Defence Team, attended at Grantham Magistrates Court for a client who had 9 Penalty Points on his driving licence. Our client had been caught speeding again for a fourth time in 18 months and so was looking at being banned from driving having now got to 12 points on his driving licence. Giles advised him beforehand about the kind of evidence which he would need to bring to Court, then whilst at Court Giles used that evidence to persuade the Court not to impose a driving ban despite the fact that the client had got to 12 Penalty Points. The client was very relieved as he would have lost his employment without his driving licence as many of us would. Of course he will now have to be very careful as any more points will leave him having to go through it all again at Court but he knows who to call to help!
