Kerry Woollason, Solicitor from our Road Traffic Defence team, saved her client from losing his driving licence this month. Her client had been caught speeding in a residential area, doing 61 mph in a 30mph zone.
Kerry advised her client that he was facing an outright disqualification from driving, as the Court had very clear sentencing guidelines for this sort of offence. The fact that he had been driving for 20 years and had a clean licence was unlikely to make any difference.
However, during the Court hearing, Kerry managed to persuade the Magistrates to let him keep his licence and gave him 6 penalty points instead. Obviously, this was an excellent result for her client.
