Congratulations to Age UK Spalding, the winners of the Ringrose Law ‘A Grand Idea’ for Spalding. Age UK Spalding provides services and support to the elderly community in Spalding, and has a day centre for elderly frail people living in the Spalding area. Age UK Spalding entered Ringrose Law’s community scheme ‘A Grand Idea’ in August 2014, specifically to help with funds for their 2014 Christmas Party.

After a month of public voting, Age UK Spalding received the most public support and won the £1,000 to go towards their Christmas Party – which over 70 members will be attending in December. On hearing the news, General Manager Liz Walmsley commented;

“We were delighted to get down to the last three and then we had to get people to vote for us. We are really pleased to have won the money to give our users a lovely Christmas.”

A Grand Idea was launched in 2013 by Ringrose Law, who committed to give an impressive £1,000 each to six different charities/community groups across Lincolnshire and Newark every year. Other ‘A Grand Idea’ winners this year include the Children’s Bereavement Centre in Newark and St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice.

Alex Bennett, Marketing Manager at Ringrose Law comments;

“Ringrose Law is delighted that Age UK Spalding has won the A Grand Idea Competition in Spalding. The competition is all about supporting and helping local community groups and this is the perfect example of how we can help people in our local community. We look forward to celebrating with Age UK Spalding at their Christmas Party in December.”

Ringrose Law has been shortlisted for the Lincolnshire Business Awards – Heart of the Community Award – recognising the work they have done with local communities and projects over the last 12 months.

A Grand Idea will be continuing throughout 2014 and the next spotlight city will be Grantham. If any community project or charity would like to send an application go to www.ringroselaw.co.uk/agrandidea for more information.
