Criminal Defence Solicitor, Tony Freitas, from Ringrose Law Criminal Team acted for Mr A, a 19 year old man, who was facing charges of driving without insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, riding a motorcycle without a helmet, and failing to stop for a police constable.

He had been spotted by police riding an unregistered pit bike back from the garage where he had just filled it up with petrol. A chase ensued, and Mr A sped off, ignoring several requests by the police to stop. Eventually he did come to a stop, and was arrested.

He appeared at court and pleaded guilty to the charges he faced. Tony Freitas was able to persuade the court not to immediately disqualify Mr A and instead to impose penalty points on his licence. This way he would be able to keep his licence. He would also be able to keep his job as an apprentice mechanic for an international car manufacturer who stated that his licence was essential, and that without it they would have had no alternative but to terminate his employment.

If you need some representation for driving offences at the police station or in Court do not hesitate to contact Tony or another member of our Criminal Defence Team. We have offices in Boston, Grantham, Lincoln, Sleaford, Spalding and Newark and would be happy to represent you.
