Congratulations to Inspire Plus, the winners of the Ringrose Law ‘A Grand Idea’ for Grantham.

Inspire Plus is a locally based sports charity providing services to their member primary and secondary schools in and around Grantham. Once a year they organise and host a Mini Olympics festival at Grantham Meres Stadium. The event involved 35 primary schools with over 1200 local children taking part.

The £1,000 donation from Ringrose Law will go towards this year’s mini-Olympics taking place on 21st June.

Inspire Plus entered into the A Grand Idea project in February and after a month of public voting, won with an outstanding 47% of the vote. On hearing the great news, Rod Tyler – Trustee for Inspire Plus commented;

In its 10th year, the Mini Olympics is a chance for all the Inspire+ member primary schools to come together for a day’s celebration of sport. Schools bring teams of 15 year 3 or year 4 pupils. For many of the children it is their first experience of a large sporting event. The children take part in their own opening and closing ceremony where they represent a different country. During the day they take part in up to 14 different Olympic & Paralympic sports.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary, we are being joined on the day by a samba band and carnival dancers along with a display from a local sky diving display team. The day is supported by the charities 250 secondary school young leaders and all the sports zones are run by local sports

Inspire+ would like to thank Ringrose Law for the award and all the people who voted for our project.”
