Ringrose Law Domestic Abuse department has teamed up with some of the local organisations they work with across Lincolnshire and Newark to put together their first #Yourenotalone Domestic Abuse video campaign.
The campaign highlights a variety of organisations across Lincolnshire and Newark and the support they can provide for victims of domestic abuse. The aim is to help victims recognise that they are not alone, they should not be ashamed to get help and there are people who can support them on every step of their journey. Organisations involved include EDAN Lincs, Lincolnshire Rape Crisis, Longhurst Group, BRIC and Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid.
Esme Hobbs from the Ringrose Law Domestic Abuse department is keen to push the video to help raise awareness;
“Taking that first step to getting help is often the hardest step. At Ringrose Law we can help victims of Domestic Abuse by putting court orders and injunctions in place to protect victims and their families. The organisations we have worked with in this campaign all play a part to play in supporting victims, from providing accommodation, counselling services, a new home and most importantly taking steps to start a new journey. We also recognise that victims of domestic abuse are not alone and we are all here to help and support.”
Domestic Abuse at Christmas Time
The campaign has been launched during a year that has seen cases of domestic abuse soar during lockdown, and this may only get worse over the coming months.
Between July-September 2020 9,944 applications were made for remedy orders and 82% of these applications were for Non-Molestation Orders. This is a rise of 27% on last year.
