Ringrose Law is proud to announce that we have become an official member of the Advisers for Deaf Network (ADN), a UK-wide initiative dedicated to improving access to legal, financial, and professional services for Deaf and hard-of-hearing people.
The Advisers for Deaf Network exists to remove barriers that Deaf clients routinely face when seeking professional advice. The network sets clear accessibility standards for its members — including the provision of qualified BSL interpreters, use of video-interpreting services, Deaf-awareness training for staff, and accessible communication channels tailored to each client’s needs. By joining ADN, Ringrose Law has committed to meeting and promoting these standards across all our offices.
As a long-standing advocate for equality and inclusive legal services, our firm is already recognised for its work supporting Deaf clients through our Discrimination and Accessibility Team.
Led by specialists in Equality Act matters, the team assists individuals facing discrimination in healthcare, retail, entertainment, transport, higher education, policing, and other public and private services.
Much of this work directly relates to communication failures, lack of reasonable adjustments, and breaches of Deaf clients’ legal rights.
Membership in ADN formalises and strengthens our ongoing commitment to accessible legal advice. At Ringrose Law, Deaf clients are offered British Sign Language interpreters, lip-speakers, deaf-blind interpreters, and video-interpreting, depending on their preference. These services are provided at no additional cost to the client. Our team also understands that not all Deaf people use BSL, and we tailor communication accordingly — whether via text, email, speech-to-text, or other methods.
In recent years, our Discrimination Team has worked proactively with Deaf communities, charities, and public bodies, including supporting policy improvements within NHS Trusts to ensure communication rights are respected. We regularly deliver training, webinars, and community outreach to raise awareness of Deaf accessibility issues and promote best practice across the legal sector.
Becoming part of ADN reflects our belief that professional services must be genuinely accessible to all. By joining this network, Ringrose Law aims not only to strengthen the support we provide to Deaf clients, but also to contribute to raising standards across the wider industry.
