Ringrose Law is proud to announce that our Wills and Probate team has undergone specialised training with the Alzheimer’s Society to become Dementia Friends. This significant step underscores our commitment to better understanding, supporting, and helping our clients, particularly when discussing sensitive matters such as making a will, establishing a lasting power of attorney, or addressing end-of-life issues.

The Dementia Friends initiative is a nationwide movement led by the Alzheimer’s Society aimed at changing people’s perceptions of dementia. A Dementia Friend is someone who learns about dementia so they can help their community. Too many individuals affected by dementia feel that society fails to understand the condition they live with. Dementia Friends help by raising awareness and understanding, enabling people living with dementia to continue living in the way they want.

Being a Dementia Friend involves taking actions—both big and small—that make a difference. These actions don’t have to be time-consuming. Simple gestures such as visiting someone you know with dementia or being more patient in a shop queue can have a significant impact. Additionally, Dementia Friends can engage in activities like volunteering, campaigning, or wearing a badge to raise awareness.

“At Ringrose Law, we believe in providing comprehensive and empathetic service to all our clients. By becoming Dementia Friends, our team is better equipped to meet the needs of clients living with dementia, ensuring they feel understood and supported during critical moments in their lives,” said Nerina Farmer, Head of the Wills & Probate team at Ringrose Law.

“This training is part of Ringrose Law’s ongoing efforts to ensure our team has the skills and knowledge necessary to provide the highest level of service. By partnering with the Alzheimer’s Society, we are taking proactive steps to create a more inclusive and understanding environment for our clients.”
