Jan Povada from Ringrose Laws Criminal Defence team recently attended the police station to represent a long standing client who had arranged to attend on a voluntary basis for interview. The client asked that Mr Povada attend, as was his right to obtain free legal advice 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
The client’s landlord had made an allegation of assault implying that he was attacked and suffering with a black eye. Having taken into account my clients instructions I explained the LAW on SELF-DEFENCE, and advised that he should answer questions. Self-defence is not as straightforward as it perhaps seems. Having taken this advice no further action was brought and no court proceedings followed.
