Appeals
You may have been convicted by a court either when you were represented or not. In either event, we may be able to assist you with an appeal.
There are normally strict deadlines by which appeals must be lodged but these can sometimes be extended if there are good reasons.
However, it is important that you get in touch with us as soon as possible to discuss your appeal.
Criminal Case Review Commission
Some appeals are considered by the Criminal Case Review Commission. The CCRC will make recommendations to the Court of Appeal if it appears that there has been a miscarriage of justice.
It may be necessary to obtain new evidence, such as an expert’s report, to present to the CCRC. Without professional assistance, there is a serious risk of your case not receiving the consideration that it deserves.
Legal Aid
You might be entitled to Legal Aid to assist you in preparing an appeal, and a member of our team will happily discuss this with you. If you are currently serving a prison sentence, then a member of our team can come to the prison to advise you.
