Ringrose Law successfully represented a client for speeding offences
Mr X appeared at Grantham Magistrates Court having been charged with speeding on the A46. He had been recorded travelling at 97mph in a 70mph limit, meaning that he was liable for a fine (dependant on his income) and either 4-6 penalty points or a disqualification between 7-28 days.
His licence was vital to him and his family. If he lost his licence for any period of time he would lose his job. He therefore instructed Tony Freitas, a member of our specialist Motoring Defence Team here at Ringrose Law, to represent him at court. The lengthy representations put forward by Tony were taken on board by the magistrates hearing the case who were persuaded to impose the obligatory fine, but more importantly, 5 penalty points rather than ban him from driving for any period of time. Unsurprisingly Mr X was delighted.
