Ringrose Law and LIVES are joining in the Chinese New Year celebrations this week with the launch of the annual Lincoln Dragon Boat Race.
Dragon boat racing has an ancient Chinese history, dragon boating was held to avert misfortune and encourage rains on the rice fields for prosperity. It is now a very popular sport in China and across the globe.
This week is the launch of the 2023 Lincoln Dragon Boat Race, which will be the sixth annual event organised by local Solicitors Ringrose Law.
This spectacular team event takes place on the Lincoln Brayford Waterfront on Saturday 17th June from midday onwards.
Last year the event, organised by Ringrose Law and local Lincolnshire charity LIVES attracted crowds of over 1,000 people throughout the day and over 20 teams, made up of local businesses and fundraising organisations, battled it out to be crowned 2022 winners of the Boat Race.
The event raised over £17,000 for LIVES and this year the event will also be raising money for the local Emergency Response charity
Already 10 teams signed up for the event including Headline Partners National Grid and Freedom FSM based in Lincoln.

Each team is made up of up to 10 paddlers, a beating drummer at the front of the boat and a steering helm (provided by the organisers) at the tail end.
The ancient festival promises a fantastic day for competitors and spectators alike, with a full range of activities both on and off the water for families to get involved in.
