About John Knight

John Knight is the Head of the Personal Injury and Medical Negligence departments at Ringrose Law. For the last 20 years he has specialised solely in Medical Negligence and Personal Injury Law.

Historically, John has worked for two national firms of Medical Negligence & Personal Injury Solicitors in both Leeds and Manchester.

John’s Medical Negligence work covers a huge range of problems suffered by clients. Specifically in relation to GP, Dental, Hospital and private medical care. John has dealt with and is currently dealing with matters that range from baby brain damage and surgery resulting in death, to failures to diagnose conditions or fractures.

John’s Personal Injury work concentrates mainly on serious and complex claims arising out of matters such as major road traffic accidents; accidents at work and accidents resulting in death.

John specialises in representing families at inquests. This can be a very difficult time following the loss of a loved one.

As well as the above, John also specialises in helping people suffering serious injuries from assaults or other criminal activities via the Criminal Injury Compensation Authority.

John is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA).


John obtained his Law Degree and completed his Law Society Finals course during 4 years at Northumbria University at Newcastle. At that time the course was recognised as being in the top 10 academic institutes in the country to teach Law.

John also regularly attends, writes, and presents legal seminars on Personal Injury and Medical Negligence.


In addition to his specialist legal areas, John is also on the firm’s Management Board. John loves the constant challenge of helping build Lincolnshire’s best legal firm.

Outside of work, John loves to spend time with his family and when he is not with his wife & three very active kids, John loves to go mountain biking, road cycling, skiing, golfing or just generally trys to enjoy himself!

In 2017 John joined the Board of Trustees for Headway Lincolnshire and takes an active role with the charity.
